Ridge Systems
Warm moist air must be exhausted from the dairy barn.
This is effectively accomplished by using the buoyancy of warmer
air to rise and exit at the highest point—usually the ridge.
This simple concept of open ridge is still widely employed.
Disadvantages
of an open ridge design has been addressed by several Faromor innovations
and product adaptations over the years. These products utilize
the buoyancy of warm air and external wind effects on the structure
to optimize air exchange to maintain uniform environmental
temperature.

Wall Panels and Vents offer
a high quality, long lasting alternative for side- wall ventilation.
Despite the higher initial capital investment they are, possibly,
the least cost solution because they perform & last for
many years.
Solar
& Clear-Vu Panels offer
high light transmission, higher insulation values & a
superior weather seals compared to fabric curtain products.
Their only disadvantage being that the wall opening is
limited to a maximum of 50 %, as the panel must store below
the opening. |

Faromor
VIP Panel
and Poly-Ex 64 are insulated wall panels used
in applications where higher environmental temperature
are desired - eg. warm calf housing, swine and poultry
buildings. The higher insulation values (up to R20) minimize
interior panel surface condensation and associated freezing.
If the application requires natural light these panels
can be supplied with pre-installed thermal windows. Dig

Curtain Systems
Fabric curtains have long proven to be an economical solution for controlling
large side wall openings.
Faromor manufactures
a number
of curtain systems and the choice depends on the
application. All the curtain systems can be supplied for
manual or automatic operation. |

Insulated
curtains are used where warmer environment temperatures are
required such as swine and poultry applications.
They are fabricated using multi-layered fabrics that act
to insulate in much the same manner as wearing layered clothing.
Hardware options for insulated are similar to the non-insulated
curtains. Dig

Faromor
Power Systems
Faromor philosophy
is to design low energy consuming ventilation systems
using nature to its fullest. However, we sometimes need
to give nature a boost and fan powered components are
utilized. An exhaust module added to the Faromor chimney
or inclusion of circulation
or tunnel fans for improved mixing or
forced convective cooling are examples.
In yet other
applications experience has found that full powered
exhaust and inlet systems are superior. Hog farrowing,
nursery and cage layer barns are examples where natural
ventilation systems have made little inroads.
Faromor works
closely with our exclusive fan manufacturer--Canarm to
access a wide range of quality ventilation products
that can be incorporated into their designs.

Automation involves
the application of current-day computer technology
to control the ventilation, cooling and heating functions
to ensure an optimum environment for each production
purpose. Extensive experience gained over many years
in the agriculture sector permits the Faromor staff
to identify those parameters which warrant control
and the application of appropriate products to do
the job.
Faromor has
partnered with a world leading environmental control
manufacturer — Hotraco to
assure their customers get high quality, dependable
products. Dig
