Standard
Top Down (TD) curtains
are permanently fastened at the bottom of
the opening and lowered (opened) from the top. In cold
weather the initial air enters high on the side-wall to ensure
ventilation with minimum draft.
However, permanent ‘bunching'
of these larger (8ft and greater) dairy curtains permits
water accumulation and rodent infestation in the fabric
folds and has discouraged their acceptance. Dig

The Faromor Top
Down-Summer Roll Up (TD-SRU) operated curtains have the same advantage of a high cold air entry
point but permits the curtain to be neatly rolled and stored
for the summer season. This eliminates the problem of water
accumulation and rodent infestation thereby extending the
life expectancy of the product.
The curtains are normally fastened
at the bottom in winter and released to be rolled up in the
late spring for permanent storage until late fall when needed
again. Dig

Bottom
Roll-Up Only (BRU)
curtains open from the bottom
up by wrapping itself around a bottom attached rotating
aluminum tubular pipe. As the pipe rolls the curtain
supports the weight of the pipe keeping it under tension
and raising it under continuous tension as it raises.
The system eliminates the need for
lift cables and pulleys which give rise to maintenance problems
and constant vigilance on large barns. It also provides
all the advantages of eliminating water entrapment, rodent infestation and
storage under the building overhang protecting from ultra-violet
degradation. Dig

Roll-a-Way
(RAW) curtains have a permanently
mounted bottom aluminum roller tube. As the curtain lowers
from the top down the excess curtain material continually
wraps on the rolling tube thereby eliminating the water entrapment
and rodent infestation.
These Roll-a-Way curtains
offer the advantage of an initial opening high on the side
wall which will accommodate application of large single piece
curtains with minimal wind noise. Dig deeper»
Split
Curtain System is the application
of two piece curtains on the side wall of the freestall
dairy. They can be installed as any combinations of
the above described curtain types. For example, the
upper curtain could be a Roll-a-Way
(RAW) and the lower curtain a Bottom
Roll-Up (BRU).
We consider the lower curtain as a ‘temporary wall' which is usually down through-out
most of the winter and totally open all summer. For this reason the lower curtain
often is operated manually whereas the upper is often operated automatically. This
system is available for either manual or fully automated
operations. Dig

Lift
Up (LU-C) Curtains start opening from
the bottom which give them the advantage of self-storing
at the top free from previously cited problems of water
and rodents.
These curtains permanently mount at the top and are lowered via stainless lift
cables that pass through grommet tabs which are stitched to the curtain face.
This ensures the curtain tidily folds as it is raised and into the fully raised
position. Dig

For operator comfort in the milking parlour, a Vinyl Roller Curtain can be installed that helps keep the warm air in the parlour area between milkings.
The parlour roller curtain is a heavy duty 18 oz vinyl material installed where the milking parlour and holding area meet and is a rolling curtain attached to aluminum tube which is either mounted on the ceiling or other framed area. The heavy-duty vinyl material allows for easy wash down and long life expectancy. Dig

Mor-R
Insulated Curtains are
fabricated using seven layers of non-quilted fabric.
The
outer layer is an UV stable, 9.5 oz white vinyl followed
with a 4.5 oz vapour barrier, 5 layers of non-woven insulating
material, a second 4.5 oz polyethylene interior. Estimated
R=3.0 insulation value. Available in a range of widths
to suit all your applications. Dig
