Dairy Farmers of Ontario is the marketing group for the largest sector of Ontario agriculture and is owned and operated by the farm families of Ontario's dairy farms.

The Holstein Association USA is the world's largest dairy cattle breed organization and is headquartered in Brattleboro, Vermont.

The Association gathers, processes and records data on Holsteins from across the country. This data is translated into information used by producers in making profitable business decisions.

Holstein Canada is a member owned and directed organization, made up of over 13,000 members across Canada.

The purposes of the Holstein CanadaAssociation are to improve the Holstein breed; prepare, maintain and make available a genealogical record of the breed; and promote the best interests of breeders and owners of Holstein cattle in Canada.

With their Mission Statement: "To Build Future Rural Leaders Through Self Help and Community Betterment", Junior Farmers' Association of Ontario offer a wide variety of programs throughout the year to each member and each club across the province.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is the only global international organization dealing with the rules of trade between nations. At its heart are the WTO agreements, negotiated and signed by the bulk of the world's trading nations and ratified in their parliaments.

The goal is to help producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations leads international efforts to defeat hunger. Serving both developed and developing countries, FAO acts as a neutral forum where all nations meet as equals to negotiate agreements and debate policy.

FAO is also a source of knowledge and information. We help developing countries and countries in transition modernize and improve agriculture, forestry and fisheries practices and ensure good nutrition for all.

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works at the crossroads of livestock and poverty, bringing high-quality science and capacity-building to bear on poverty reduction and sustainable development for poor livestock keepers and their communities.

ILRI works in partnerships and alliances with other organisations, national and international, in livestock research, training and information. ILRI works in all tropical developing regions of Africa, Asia and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The aim of the common agricultural policy is to provide farmers with a reasonable standard of living and consumers with quality food at fair prices.

The way these aims are met has changed of the years. Food safety, preservation of the rural environment and value for money are now all key concepts.
