Low energy consumption and quiet operation are hallmarks of natural ventilation system designs.

Open sidewalls (3-4 ft openings)
are usual and regulated with the addition of Insulated Curtains or Panels and Chimneys equipped
with dampers at the ridge. Ridge chimneys are frequently manually operated whereas sidewalls should be preferably automated. Automation of the chimneys will permit even closer temperature regulation. Dig deeper »

The acceptance of full Natural and Combi Ventilation Systems is widespread. The power component is increasingly important to success in the colder regions so we can ventilate as a Power System in winter and as a Natural System in summer.

Sows and operators alike benefit from increased availability of natural light, quieter, & brighter environment with lower operating cost.

Adaptation of Natural Ventilation Systems to farrow and nursery applications several years ago suggested that the same advantages experienced in breeding/gestation and finishing were not evident.

Ventilation rates are lower due to the higher desired ambient temperature making any saving in reduced energy consumption less significant. Serious adverse effects of temperature and/or velocity changes suggest the gains are not worth the added risk in most situations. Dig deeper »
