Warm moist air must be exhausted from the dairy barn. This is effectively accomplished by using the buoyancy of warmer air to rise and exit at the highest point - usually the ridge.

Faromor tried open ridges and mechanical ridge designs on Tie Stalls in the earlier years. Although they worked the ability to stop downdrafts and to keep out the elements was a challenge. The adaptation of the Faromor Chimney eliminated these associated problems and made it the product of choice to control the ridge exhaust.

Faromor FRP Chimney

Dairy producers increasingly embrace the Faromor FRP Chimney as a superior concept for ridge ventilation. Higher exit velocity of the chimney is achieved with less ridge opening resulting in more equal exchange throughout the barn and eliminating downdrafts.

It does not allow the entry of precipitation and the highly insulated chimney walls prevent condensation and dripping. The typical Tie Stall barn is between 45-60 ft wide and Faromor Chimneys are located down the center ridge at about 24ft-32ft on center. Dig deeper »
