As in the dairy barn
warm moist air must be exhausted and this is most effectively
accomplished by using the buoyancy of warm air to rise
and exit at the highest point--usually the ridge.
Disadvantage
of an open ridge in the parlor include the entry of unwanted
precipitation both snow and rain and the adverse heat
gain on operator and cow alike on hot summer days.

Faromor FRP Chimney
|
Faromor
FRP Chimneys
The Faromor
FRP Chimney is a
superior product for the milking parlor. Higher exit
air velocity of the chimney counteracts the tendency
of down-drafts common in open ridge designs but doesn't
limit the amount of ventilation in the manner that
a covered open ridge does.

The elimination of precipitation, dripping and direct
sunlight from the heads of milkers is a welcome improvement. Dig

Mechanical
“Solar Ridge”

Mechanical “Solar
Ridge”
This Faromor product
permits the advantage of a large non-restricted open
ridge during periods when it is acceptable and yet the
means to reduce this opening size when required. The Solar
Ridge can permit light entry and exclude
rain or snow by simple adjustment with an electric
actuator operated by a toggle switch within easy reach
of the operator. Glazing can be supplied tinted to reduce
solar heat gain without the loss of light.

The ability
to adjust this ridge opening from "closed" (between milkings)
to increasing amounts of "open" dependent on the weather
makes it a preferred choice for the holding area. Dig
