For larger dairies (>100 cows) free stall housing is the system of choice. Herein, cows are permitted to move freely between resting, eating, and milking areas. Grouping cows by production level, feeding high quality ‘ total mixed rations' (TMR), and up to 3 times a day milking (3X) or increasingly common (4X) in a parlor or robotic milking stations assures maximum milk harvesting per man hour of invested labor.

These large free stall facilities are usually ventilated with a system of side wall and ridge openings which permit adjustment manually or automatically to assure an optimum production environment. Circulating fans and/or evaporative cooling is normally employed to supplement the natural wind forces in the warmer times of year where dictated by local weather extremes.

Faromor has developed various products, and product combinations to successfully ventilate these larger scale free stall operations. We have grouped these products for our discussion and information search.
